Newborn Session Information
Please read carefully as this page contains important information you need to know about your session.
If you have scheduled a newborn session, or are thinking about scheduling one, then you have come to the right place! This page has been designed to inform you on everything you need to know about your upcoming session, and hopefully answer any questions you may have. First of all, congratulations! You are gonna have a baby! This is such an exciting time for you. I think myself incredibly lucky to be able to take part in this wonderful new beginning.
When scheduling a session I will need to know your due date. Now, we all know babies don't like being told when it's time to be born, so I keep the time around your due date very flexible. If you have any special requests for props in your session, the earlier you let me know the better in case anything needs to be ordered. In order to get the best results, we will want to schedule the session to take place within the first 10 days after baby is born. The best time for a session is going to be in the morning around 10am. Please contact me as soon as you are able after the baby has been born to make the arrangements.
The session will take place at the clients house, where I will bring with me all the necessary props and materials. All of my fabrics are washed in a baby friendly detergent. Before the session starts, I advise that you try to get the temperature in your home to around 85 degrees. I realize this is hot and uncomfortable for us, but for baby this is the perfect cozy temperature. I will be bringing a space heater with me to help with keeping the room warm. I will also be using a white noise app to keep baby calm, so be prepared to hear that for the duration of the session. This time is going to be all about keeping baby comfortable and happy.
Please make sure to feed baby immediately prior to our scheduled session time. If there are any props that you have that you really want in any photos, please have them ready for when we start. You are not required to provide any props as I will be bringing props with me. Be prepared to stick with me for a while as newborn sessions take around 3 hours. During this time I may ask a parent for help, but nothing will be difficult.
